GENERAL RULES

[SPORTSMANSHIP] Any contestant who displays poor sportsmanship, violates these rules, or violates any state or federal laws is subject to disqualification.

 

[ELIGIBILITY] Any person whose annual income is (or has been retired) directly derived from being employed or engaged in the exploration, production, drilling, refining, and or servicing of the oil & gas industry. Spouses or any child in school can fish with any eligible participant. Anyone who is servicing as a licensed guide or has guided without a license or pay on the tournament lake within the past twelve (12) months will not be eligible. Anyone who has entered two (2) or more recognized professional bass fishing circuit tournaments with an entry fee of $500.00 per individual in the past twelve (12) months is not eligible. Any individual fishing competitively to earn their living is considered a Professional and is not eligible to fish. Participants must have a valid Texas or Louisiana fishing license. These rules and regulation committee reserves the right to refuse any entry application; the decision of the committee shall be final. Applicants may be required to furnish the committee with proof of eligibility.

 

[SAFTY] All State, Coast Guard, Federal and Parks & Wildlife regulations shall apply at all times. Safe boat conduct must be observed at all times. No boat shall have an engine with higher horsepower rating than approved Coast Guard maximum. Capacity and rating plate must be on boat. All boats must be equipped with some type of emergency kill switch. Fastened life jackets and kill switches must be worn anytime the boat is moving above the idle speed.

 

[ALCOHOL & DRUGS] At no time during the tournament hours are any alcoholic beverages or drugs other than prescription allowed in the boat or to be consumed. Consumption of alcohol or drugs shall not occur prior to presenting fish at weigh-in time or prior to taking a polygraph test by you or your partner.

 

[TEAMS] Teams will consist of two (2) eligible individuals, registering as such, No one man fishing alone. Any contestants action will directly reflect upon his teammate. There will be no use of guides during tournament competition in any manner. Only two (2) registered contestants in each boat.

 

[TACKLE] Only artificial lures can be used; no prepared or live bate other than pork rind strips and fish attractant may be used. Only rod and reel outfits may be used. Fishing with only one rod and reel at a time is allowed per team member. Other rods may be in the boat for substitution. No trolling is permitted. Landing nets are permitted.

 

[SCORING] Scoring will be based on the weight in pounds of bass (Largemouth, Kentucky, or Spotted) with a minimum length of 14 inches. Only 5 fish per team, per day will be counted. Fish presented for weighing that are less than 14 inches in length will be disqualified and one pound per undersized fish will be deducted as penalty. If more than 5 fish are presented for weighing, then the largest fish will be disqualified until the (5) fish limit is reached. It is the responsibility of the team to keep fish alive. A determination of whether the fish are alive or dead will be made at the scales and a bonus of .10 pound will be awarded for each live fish weighed in. No fish may be kept by any contestant, all fish are to be released back to the lake. Teams are not allowed to have more than 5 fish in their live well at any one time. NO EXCEPTIONS. Each team is automatically entered in the big bass pot to be paid daily ONLY one (1) BIG BASS prize will be awarded to any one team each day.

 

[TOURNAMENT HOURS] Fishing hours will be posted at the tournament registration. It is the responsibility of the team to understand and abide by the prescribed weigh in times as they will be strictly enforced and are grounds for disqualification.

 

[LAUNCH SITE] Contestants will be allowed to trailer boats to any landing on Toledo Bend. However, fishing is allowed only during tournament hours and weigh-in times must be observed.

 

[TIE] In case of a tie for any place, the winnings will be combined and split equally.

 

[BOATS] Boats must be used that are 14 feet or longer. Contestant may not change boats during tournament hours unless approved by the tournament committee. No wade fishing will be allowed.

 

[PLOYGRAPH TEST] By his signature on the application each contest agrees to submit to and pass, a polygraph test to be given at the discretion of the tournament committee. The administration & interpretation of the polygraph test is solely the responsibility of the tournament committee and its agents. If you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs you will not be given a polygraph, and your team will be disqualified. If you have failed to pass a polygraph test in any tournament or if you have been disqualified from any tournament, you are not eligible to fish this tournament.

 

[COMPAINTS] Complaints or protest must be submitted to the tournament committee within 30 minutes after weigh in each day. All decisions rendered by the committee are final.

 

[ENCROACHMENT] A team is not permitted to approach within 50 yards of any other boat which is tied or anchored, unless permission has been granted.

 

[REGISTRATION] Each team must register with the tournament committee between 12:00 pm and 8:00 pm. April 24, 2008 at the Cypress Bend Resort. They may pick up their ditty bags and meal tickets at this time. Any teams failing to register by 8:00 pm are subject to being disqualified. No Exceptions.
